Work is an important part of your life − whatever that looks like for you. Whether you’re an office worker, a stay-at-home parent or maybe even a freelancer, work can bring structure and a sense of purpose. But meeting deadlines, managing your responsibilities and giving 100% every day can feel stressful.

So it’s all about balance. Here’s some of our Smart Health top tips to help keep the calm going throughout your day 1, 2.

Know your day

Develop habits that’ll help you get in (and out) of the zone for work. It might be that you start your day by planning out what you need to get done and when you’re going to do it − including regular breaks. And when it comes to the end of the day, things like tidying your desk, listening to music or reading a book in a warm bath can help you wind down.

Prioritise self-care

We can all probably hold our hands up here − it’s not often self-care makes the top of the list. But actually it’s really important for your wellbeing. Give yourself enough time to recharge, whether that’s meeting up with friends, going for lunchtime walks or doing yoga. Your down time matters too. Taking some time off – whether that’s going on a holiday alone (or visiting family) can be a great reward for yourself.

Finding help

Sharing the load can make a big difference. If you’ve got too much on your plate, talk to someone who can help − a problem shared is a problem halved. By protecting your time, you’re allowing yourself to focus on what’s most important and you’ll avoid spreading yourself too thin.

Stay connected

Working remotely or independently has its upsides − that’s for sure. Having a flexible schedule can be great but there’s the other side of things too − feeling stressed, isolated and anxious3. So staying connected with friends, family and colleagues keeps you feeling supported and loved.

Keeping mentally well

Looking after your mental health is key to leading a happier, healthier life − it’s often little actions that have the biggest impact. And sometimes you need a little bit of guidance to manage the stresses of everyday life. That’s where we come in.

Our Smart Health experts will work with you to build your very own coping strategies − ones that really suit your needs and situation. Book a call to get started. Remember, small changes can lead to big results when it comes to managing stress effectively.
